Aug. 18. WSOC has reported that the mother and step-father of 12-year-old Madalina Cojocari have pleaded not guilty for failing to report her missing for more than three weeks.
The case, which is expected to proceed to trial, has perplexed law enforcement and citizens alike since she was reported missing Dec. 15.
Diana Cojocari and her husband, Christopher Palmiter, have both been charged with failure to report the disappearance of a child to law enforcement. The family lived in Victoria Bay in a house valued at $473,000.
Cojocari and Palmiter first appeared in court in April and had bonds set at $250,000 and $200,000, respectively. On Thursday WSOC reported the judge set bond for him at $25,000 secured. Both have been in jail since December 2022.
