Jan. 5. A memorial service Cornelius Police Officer Joshua Murray will be held at 11 am Friday Jan. 21 at Grace Covenant Church in Cornelius. Visitation will follow at Sweet Magnolia on Bailey Road.

Murray passed away Dec. 29 due to an off-duty medical event. He had been with the Cornelius Police Dept. since April of 2019.

He was assigned to the Field Operations Division where he worked on the Lake Patrol Unit.

He also served on the Mobile Field Force Team.
