A public meeting on how to improve the Torrence Chapel/West Catawba Avenue area is 6:30 pm at Town Hall. Residents are encouraged to attend and discuss the proposed alternatives which include roundabouts.

The Town is partnering with NCDOT on the study, according to Assistant Town Manager Andrew Grant. WSP/Parsons Brinckerhoff, an engineering firm, will run the meeting. After their presentation, residents can ask questions.

Roundabouts, like the ones in Davidson just east of Exit 30 on I-77, have been discussed with commercial property owners nearby.

Torrence Chapel intersection is one of the two “bookends” which flank the Exit 28 Diverging Diamond Interchange, and due to their close proximity, sometimes cause congestion on the crossing.

Town Staff and Parsons Brinckerhoff personnel will be available to answer questions. The meeting will be held in Town Hall,  21445 Catawba Ave.
