April 7. The Lake Norman Community Health Clinic (LNCHC) of Huntersville is taking over the services of the Ada Jenkins Center Free Medical Clinic. Effective immediately, LNCHC is welcoming uninsured patients formerly served at AJC.
“By not duplicating services, we are able to work together to touch more lives in a more efficient manner,” said LNCHC Executive Director April Cook.
LNCHC operates on a full-time weekday basis with a range of paid medical professionals on staff, as well as lab services on-site. The volunteer-staffed AJC Free Medical clinic operated one afternoon per week,

New financial realities
Both Cook and Harold Rice, CEO of Ada Jenkins, said economies of scale will come into play.
“These are wonderful patient advantages that we are unable to provide,” Rice said.
The COVID-19 economy has meant decreased contributions from some major funders, forcing non-profits to seek intra-agency partnerships and economies of scale in order to stretch resources.
