Dec. 9. The Lake Norman Lighted Christmas Boat Parade will launch at 5:30 pm as planned on Dec. 16. Cornelius Police will help lead the parade—and keep it in deep water—with three major stops: Blythe Landing at 5:30 pm, then on to Ramsey Creek, continuing to the Peninsula Yacht Club and then Duke Energy Explorium by 7:15 pm.
Event organizer Colin Furcht, a former Cornelius Town Board member, said the cancellation of the Northen Lights Parade—due to low lake levels—has caused some confusion.
“Everyone is confusing whether ours is cancelled. It is not,” he said.
The latest details will be updated on Facebook.
At the Duke Energy Explorium there will be three food trucks, DonutNV, Chips N Dips and Scream Ice Cream, not to mention Santa himself.
There will be volunteers at each location collecting toys for Little Smiles. Cash and debit/credit donations are also welcome.
Furcht said there is still room for a more boat captains as well. Interested? Email cbaycharlotte@gmail.com for a Registration Packet.
