LKN emergency supply caravan heading to McDowell County; supplies needed

Sept. 28. The Marion Buck Creek water plant has been without power since yesterday. Without power, the water supply is anticipated to be depleted by noon tomorrow. The Lake Norman Chamber is leading an effort to collect much-needed supplies to start deliveries to Marion as soon as Sunday morning.

What’s needed:

Cases of water
Jugs of water
Diapers
Baby Formula
Baby Supplies
MREs
Protein bars
Non-perishable food items

Details

Any and all donations can be dropped off at the Payroll Plus HCM building at 19300 Statesville Road from 10 am to 6 pm on Sunday as well as during normal business hours on Monday and Tuesday.

The supplies will be immediately transported to the Universal Advanced Manufacturing Center, located at 634 College Drive, in hard-hit Marion. The center has been setup by McDowell County Chamber and the McDowell County Emergency Operations Center in the wake of Tropical Storm Helene.
