Feb. 25. Lake Norman Realty associates and executives recently gathered at River Run Country Club for the company’s 2015 Awards Breakfast and Annual Report delivered by company president Abigail Jennings.
Jennings began by presenting the firm’s annual report celebrating associate achievements and overall growth statistics within the real estate market. Jennings reported that 2015 was the best year in the firm’s 37-year history, with over 16 percent growth. Activity also increased within their Relocation, Commercial, and Property Management divisions, all exceeding goals set forth for 2015.
Jennings also highlighted new initiatives implemented in 2015 to provide higher service to associates and clients, including advanced training and coaching programs.
The company’s efforts as a whole did not go unnoticed in the past year. The Charlotte Business Journal named Lake Norman Realty to its Largest Real Estate Companies and Largest Woman-Owned Companies lists. The firm was also recognized by RIS Media as a Top 1000 Power Broker in the nation. It ranked 21st in production for real estate firms in North Carolina.
Following her annual report, Jennings was surprised with an unexpected recognition by her colleagues celebrating her 25th anniversary with the firm. General Manager Shantae Brown and associates Debbie Monroe and Ann Scott shared their memories of the past 25 years and presented Jennings with a commemorative collage of images throughout the years.
Jennings then presented awards to Lake Norman Realty associates for their outstanding achievements in 2015. These included:
- The James A. Jennings Community Spirit Award to Barbara Bulen, recognizing her community service
- Service Provider of the Year to Nancy Hucks for her record of excellence from surveyed seller and buyer clients
- The Success Award to Bob Crowley, recognizing exemplary sales achievement
- Top Listing Associate Awards to Nancy Hucks overall and for the Davidson office, Debbie Monroe for the Cornelius office, Carol Laney for the Denver office, Rich Tomasini for the Mooresville office, and Tom Gregory for the Statesville office

In addition, Jennings awarded the firm’s top 15 associates a luxury Caribbean cruise in recognition of their superior 2015 sales performance.
After the awards presentation, Jennings shared her forecast and initiatives for 2016. Based on many positive market indicators, the company is anticipating continued steady growth for 2016.
In closing, Jennings shared an inspirational message regarding individual goals and the firm’s philosophy of giving back to the community. Jennings encouraged each associate to make 2016 the year to “step out and step up” to lend a hand through volunteering.
“The ripple is a powerful symbol of the effect individuals can have on the community,” she said. “It starts with one drop and radiates outward, transforming everything around it. Each person has the potential to make a ripple, to make a difference, and be fulfilled by cultivating purpose.”
