The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
Presented by the Davidson Community Players, Armour Street Theatre, 307 Armour Street, Davidson. Tickets are $15-$20. Email boxoffice@davidsoncommunityplayers.org or call 704-892-7953. An eclectic group of six mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. Recommended ages 12 and older.
June 24-26
6:30 pm. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights through September, US National Whitewater Center, Charlotte. Free ($6 to park). Enjoy live rock, Americana, bluegrass, folk, and funk.
June 25
Tim Cook Band. 6-8 pm. Birkdale Village, Huntersville.
Casino Bowling Night
6:45 pm. Victory Lanes, 125 Morlake Dr., Mooresville. $20. Tickets required. Music, bowling and prizes; adults only. Casino Bowling is a No-Tap format, meaning you only need to knock down 9-pins on your first ball to receive a strike. Check-in starts at 5:45 pm.
June 26
The Great Race
The second to the last stop of the cross-country, week-long, 38-year-old race for refurbished antique rally cars will be downtown Mooresville. Local car show 11 am-3 pm. The Great Race rally cars begin to drive 3-5 pm. arrive with the Antique car show at 5 pm.
2021 Fireworks & Concert Spectacular
Gates open 4 pm. Multiple musical acts with headliner Craig Campbell. This free event at East Lincoln High School, 6471 Hwy. 73, Denver, is hosted by the Denver Area Business Association.
“The Secret Life of Pets 2” at Legion Park, 21214 Legion St. Free.
Check-in will be held at the baseball field outfield gate. Gate opens at 6:30 pm, including concessions available for purchase. Weather permitting, the movie will begin at dusk, approximately 8:30 pm.
9 am -noon in downtown Davidson. This year’s 36 vendors include: fruits and vegetables, meat and dairy, freshly baked breads and artisanal baked goods, prepared foods, speciality culinary items, beverages, and health and beauty products.
8 am to noon. An outdoor, open air market, offering fresh produce, eggs, baked goods, dog treats, select craft items, free chef samples and more. Veterans Park, Main Street and Maxwell Street, Huntersville.
Crucial Fiya, reggae. 6-8 pm on Jetton Street in front of The Linden Apartments, Davidson.

6 pm. Badfish. Featuring opening band Of Good Nature. Buy tickets in advance for $20.
June 29
6-7 pm. A workout class will be presented by various studios and instructors each week. Check in across from Lululemon starting at 5:30 pm.
