Aug. 18. The Kyiv City Ballet, on its inaugural tour of the United States, will perform their mixed repertoire show “Tribute to Peace” at Davidson College on Sept. 18.

The performance is at 7:30 pm in the Duke Family Performance Hall.

Ticket prices range from $12 to $22.

Background

The day before Ukraine was invaded in February, the Kyiv City Ballet unknowingly took one of the last flights out of Kyiv. The company flew to Paris to begin a long-planned tour.

A day after Kyiv City Ballet’s arrival in Paris, the dancers learned of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. They have had temporary residency at the Théâtre du Châtelet.

According to Davidson College they have not been able to return home.

The country of France has sheltered them while performing throughout France and Europe since the invasion began.
