Aug. 6. Kelsey Maiorano, a highly regarded classical oboist, will perform in concert Friday, Aug. 26 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. There will be a free-will offering. Kelsey is the daughter of Peggy and Lee Maiorano, of Summerbrook Drive. At age 14 Kelsey was accepted into the conservatory of music at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. She graduated from the Conservatory of Music at Lynn University in Florida. She has performed twice at the Domaine Forget international music festival in Québec, and has also given master classes in Colombia. Her father Lee is bass player at Mt. Zion’s 9:45 am service. Catch Kelsey now; she will appear as a soloist with the Chamber Academy of Basel in Switzerland in November.
