Long time Charlotte area Veterinarian Dr. John Royce Hagaman passed away at his home on New Year’s Day.
Dr. Hagaman is preceded in death by parents John Stephen Hagaman and Nellie Wilson Hagaman, brothers Jack Hagaman, James Hagaman along with sister Betty Greear all of Zionville, NC.
He is survived by wife Susan Hagaman, Sons John Royce Hagaman Jr. and Mike Hagaman, daughter -in-law Ronda Willis Hagaman, grandchildren Casey and Taylor Hagaman as well as Brothers Jerry Hagaman , David Hagaman, Terry Hagaman and Sisters Peggy Sipe, Janice Rittenour and Barbara McEleya along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Dr. Hagaman a 1960 graduate of North Carolina State University and 1963 graduate of the University of Georgia school of Veterinary Medicine operated Hagaman Animal Hospital for over 30 years in Charlotte.
Dr. Hagaman was well known throughout the Southeast for his many interests that varied from Racing with his sons with the World Karting Association to operation of Windswept Hill Equestrian Farm. Heavily involved with Percheron horses Dr. Hagaman along with wife Susan showed Percherons on a National Level in additional to providing horse drawn carriage services for weddings and parades for many years.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Dr. Hagaman will be held on Tuesday 1-5-16 at 1 PM. The service will be held at Stanley Pentecostal Holiness Church 113 East Parkwood Street in Stanley, NC. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
In lieu of Flowers the family requests that donations be made to Stanley Pentecostal Holiness Church (Easter Drama Ministry Fund) 113 East Parkwood Street in Stanley, NC as well as The Grace of God Rescue Mission PO Box 212 Forest City, NC 28043.
