Dec. 18. North Carolina’s favorite breed is the Bulldog, while German shepherds are the No. 1 pooch in 16 states, according to a new survey of 10,000 dog owners conducted by Forbes Advisors.
Approximately two-thirds of U.S. households own a dog.

The Havanese, the only dog breed native to Cuba (according to the AKC), was the least favored breed in 33 of 50 states. Forbes Advisors says America’s second least-favored dog breed was the German shorthaired pointer followed by the Welsh corgi.
