Feb. 17. Got a yen for public service? The Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners is looking for someone to fill the at-large county commissioner seat vacated by Ella Scarborough through Dec. 5 of this year.

Scarborough, who requested medical leave, is a Democrat, and you have to be one as well to apply.
