March 27. The Hough High Odyssey of the Mind team won 2nd Place in the North Carolina Odyssey of the Mind Central Region Tournament in February and 2nd Place in the State Tournament this past weekend for Problem 5 in the high school division.

Now they move on to compete in the World Finals at Michigan State University, where they won 5th Place in the World Finals last year and won 3rd Place in the World in 9 th grade. Sydney Baker,  Odyssey of the Mind club/team president and 10-year participant, won the NCOM senior scholarship award.

Odyssey of the Mind is a creative thinking, problem solving academic competition for students in grades K-college.

Members of the team are seniors Ashlyn Ayers, Ari Aubart, Sydney Baker, Kate Baker, Kadence Dietrich, and sophomore JP Rosser.

This team has been competing together since attending Cornelius Elementary School.
