May 29. By Dave Vieser. It’s taken longer than expected, but the first structures at the 55-acre Alexander Farm development are beginning to come out of the ground. Framing for some of the 70 single-family homes is under way near Chagrin Drive
River Rock Construction of Mooresville is building the homes, as well as a 145-unit, active-adult complex. The commercial retail portion of the project, closer to West Catawba Avenue, will be the last to see any above-ground action.
River Rock anticipates that some of the homes will be done later this year, while work should also begin this year on the active adult building at Alexander Farms according to vice president Sean Cullen. “Due to the large size of the active adult building and its clubhouse/community center, it will open in three phases. Current construction schedule shows the first phase opening in late 2025,” he said.
Meanwhile, the tenant house still stands at the northeast corner of Catawba and Westmoreland, awaiting its move to a final location within the development.
