Time Sawyer blends folk, alt-country and rock for a musical experience that pairs perfectly with wide open spaces, brews and food trucks. Find it all at Rural Hill’s annual food truck rally this Saturday.The Kiwanis Splashville Park recently announced extended weekend hours. Come splash 9 a.m. till 7 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.Registration is open for “Castaway Camp: Shipwrecked!” at First Baptist Church of Cornelius. Kids will have fun with songs, crafts, games, snacks and Bible lessons each afternoon, Aug. 6-10. Email or call the church office to register.

Thursday, July 26
Community hot dog lunch will be offered each Thursday in June and July. Donations welcome. 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Bethel Presbyterian Church in Cornelius.
The Davidson Community players present the story of strong Southern women making their way over life’s many hurdles together. July 19-29 at the Duke Family Performance Hall at Davidson College.

The Cornelius Youth Orchestras is a community orchestra open to all youth musicians with one or more years of music instruction. Information sessions for the upcoming concert season will be held 6-7 p.m. July 31Aug. 7 and Aug. 14 at Bailey Middle School. New member rehearsal and orientation will be Aug. 21.
