April 9. Earth Jam 2024 will be 4 pm to 7 pm Saturday at Robbins Park. The event, organized by Cornelius Parks and Recreation to celebrate Earth Day, features food, live music and opportunities to learn how to “create change in our community to be a little kinder to our planet.” More than two dozen local organizations will be on hand to provide interactive demonstrations on sustainability, conservation and living an eco-friendly life.
Among the exhibitors
—Carolina Reptile Center will have animal skulls, turtle shells and more.
—Catawba Riverkeeper will have a bracelet-making station involving the lifecycle of water.
—Charlotte Water will have toilet bowl cornhole and provide education on disposable wipes, grease, and water quality.
—Cold Blooded and Bizarre will be bringing a few animals for people to enjoy. There will also be a giant snake that people can hold and take a picture with for a $5 donation to their non-profit.
—Davidson Lands Conservancy will have a tree-themed booth, tree-identifying games, and tree sapling giveaways.
—Lake Norman State Park will feature an interactive water table to show and display how runoff can pollute waterways.
—Thrive Gardening will offer ideas and directions for how to plant green beans, including seeds to take home.
