March 31. On Saturday, April 5, cities around the US will be part of a nationwide protest called “Hands Off,” organized by the Indivisible movement.
The demonstrations voice opposition to various policies enacted by the Trump administration, including DOGE led by Elon Musk.
Cornelius organizers plan a march here this coming Saturday from 11:30 am to 1 pm.
The North Meck contingent will meet at the Cornelius Veterans Memorial behind Town Hall, then walk down Catawba Avenue to Smithville Park, passing local businesses, the Cornelius Library, Cornelius Elementary School, the Cain Center for the Arts and the Cornelius Police Department.
Marchers will carry “Hands Off!” signs expressing opposition to “government cuts and overreach.”
The Charlotte protest will also take place Saturday, starting at 11 am at Mecklenburg County Dept. of Social Services, 301 Billingsley Road in Charlotte.
Is this a road closure, or a sidewalk situation? If a sidewalk, will they be told not to jay walk (since they will need to cross)? Will there be police? And if a counter protest was launched, say in front of the police station, would that violate any laws or rights?
Government spending and fraud has been out of control since Covid. These protestors want it to continue?
