Aug. 16. The Annual Lake Norman Fondo Cycling Event for LKN Area Charities will take place on Sunday, Aug. 18, with each of three distance routes  originating on Lorimer Road near Davidson Town Green.

From 119 S. Main St., cyclists head east out of town on Davidson-Concord Road.

Exercise caution when traveling around town as approximately 500 participants are anticipated to attend this year’s event.

The 75-mile group start time is at 7:30 am with the 35-mile and 50-mile group rides starting at 8 am. s

Davidson Street Closures: Lorimer Road will be closed from the CVS parking lot at 127 S. Main St. to Concord Road beginning  6 pm Saturday, Aug. 17  through 4 pm Sunday, Aug. 18.

Parking: Participating cyclists are asked to park in the public lots along Jackson Street. Please note due to Sunday’s church services, available parking downtown may be limited.

Town Green Activity: Lake Norman Fondo event related activities will take place on the Davidson Town Green throughout the day.
