Davidson named a ‘Tree City’ for 15th year

March 12. The Arbor Day Foundation has named the Town of Davidson a 2024 Tree City USA in honor of its commitment to plant, grow, and maintain trees. Davidson has been a Tree City USA since 2010.

To become a Tree City USA, Davidson must live up to four standards:

  1. Have a Tree Board or Department
  2. A Public Tree Care Ordinance
  3. A Community Forestry Program with an Annual Budget of at Least $2 Per Capita
  4. An Arbor Day Observance and Proclamation

Arbor Day is April 25

  1. Maybe Cornelius should be named a “Cut Down Trees City” – seems like a whole lot of that going on here.
