May 16. Davidson is the last of the Lake Norman towns to put an ordinance place to establish a social districts, defined outdoor area where alcoholic beverages, sold by an establishment licensed for the sale of alcoholic beverages for on-premises consumption, may be consumed

The Town of Davidson would like to create two  social districts: Davidson Social District/Main Street and Davidson Social District/Circles. The Town Board voted unanimously May 9 to approve an ordinance allowing for social districts.

In March 2022, Cornelius created its downtown social district.

Huntersville created a Birkdale Village social district in 2022. It is in effect 11 am to 10 pm daily.

Mooresville approved a downtown social district in 2021 that operates noon – 10 pm daily.
