Sept. 27. The COVID positivity rate statewide remained below 10 percent in NC Dept. of Health & Human Services Monday report, having been as high as 15.8 percent less than three weeks ago. New daily cases came in at 2,665 today, the lowest since the Aug. 10 report.

Hospitalizations

Hospitalizations fell to 3,012 statewide, down 20 percent from the beginning of September.

Deaths

There were 127 new deaths statewide due to COVID-19, for a total of 1,706 between Sept. 1 and today’s NCDHHS report. Seven of the deaths were in Mecklenburg County, none of them in North Meck.

Mecklenburg

In Mecklenburg County, there were 118 new cases from Friday’s report.

North Mecklenburg (change from Friday)

Cornelius: 31 new cases, 3,821 cumulative total, 28 deaths cumulative total.

Davidson: 12 new cases, 2,205 cumulative total, 16 deaths cumulative total.

Huntersville: 69 new cases, 8,309 cumulative total, 66 deaths cumulative total.
