Oct. 6. Statewide COVID-related hospitalizations remained under 3,000 for the fifth reporting day, but the NC Dept. of Health & Human Services reported 133 new coronavirus deaths, including two in Huntersville.
Tuesday’s congregate living report showed no new deaths at Huntersville Oaks or Olde Knox Commons.
New cases
The NDHHS today reported 3,598 new cases statewide, up from 2,703 new cases yesterday. There were more than 7,200 new cases three weeks ago on Sept. 15.
Testing
The statewide positivity rate fell slightly to 9.2 percent, from 9.4 percent yesterday.
Hospitalizations
Hospitalizations statewide were at 2,586 in today’s report, down from 2,705 yesterday.
Mecklenburg
In Mecklenburg County, there were 316 new cases from Tuesday’s report, as well as 11 new deaths countywide which include the two reported by NCDHHS today in Huntersville. The countywide positive test rate is 8.7 percent.
North Mecklenburg (change from Tuesday)
Cornelius: 6 new cases, 3,906 cumulative total, 28 deaths cumulative total.
Davidson: 12 new cases, 2,251 cumulative total, 17 deaths cumulative total.
Huntersville: 20 new cases, 8,500 cumulative total, 69 deaths cumulative total.
