Oct. 12. Statewide COVID-related hospitalizations have remained under 3,000 since Sept. 30, but the NC Dept. of Health & Human Services reported an increase from yesterday (2,152) to today (2,236).

The NCDHHS today reported 28 COVID-related deaths statewide; none in Mecklenburg County.

New cases statewide

There were 2,148 new cases statewide, according to the NDHHS.

Testing

The statewide positivity rate is at 7.7 percent.

Mecklenburg

In Mecklenburg County, there were 206 new cases reported today. The county-wide positive test rate was also 7.7 percent.

North Mecklenburg (change from Monday)

Cornelius: 4 new cases, 3,937 cumulative total, 29 deaths cumulative total.

Davidson: 4 new cases, 2,285 cumulative total, 17 deaths cumulative total.

Huntersville: 12 new cases, 8,598 cumulative total, 73 deaths cumulative total.
