Nov. 16. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services today reported 1,339 new cases of the coronavirus statewide. The statewide positive test rate climbed to 7.8 percent.

The Mecklenburg County positivity rate was again at 5.4 percent over the past 14 days.

There have been no new COVID-19 deaths in North Mecklenburg since Oct. 29.

Hospitalizations

Today’s NCDHHS report put statewide hospitalizations at 1,037, down from 1,039 on Monday.

Deaths

The NCDHHS today reported 25 new COVID-related deaths statewide for a total of 18,462 since the outbreak began in early 2020.

Mecklenburg

In Mecklenburg County, the NCDHHS reported 150 new cases between yesterday and today as well as two new deaths

North Mecklenburg (change from Monday)

• Cornelius: 4 new cases, 4,070 cumulative total, 31 deaths cumulative total.

• Davidson: 2 new cases, 2,371 cumulative total, 19 deaths cumulative total.

• Huntersville: 5 new cases, 8,931 cumulative total, 74 deaths cumulative total.
