Nov. 19. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services today reported 2,401 new cases of the coronavirus statewide. The statewide positive test rate stayed at 5 percent, while Mecklenburg County’s 14-day average rose a tenth of a percentage point to 5.6 percent positive.

The volume of new cases statewide rose on Wednesday, Thursday and today.

Hospitalizations

Today’s NCDHHS report put statewide hospitalizations at 1,052, about the same all week.

Deaths

The NCDHHS today also reported 35 new COVID-related deaths statewide. There were no deaths reported in Mecklenburg County.

In Mecklenburg County, the NCDHHS reported 245 new cases between yesterday and today..

North Mecklenburg (change from Thursday)

• Cornelius: 8 new case, 4,080 cumulative total, 31 deaths cumulative total.

• Davidson: 5 new cases, 2,378 cumulative total, 19 deaths cumulative total.
