Oct. 28. COVID-19 hospitalizations have fallen for the seventh straight reporting day statewide, according to today’s NC Dept. of Health & Human Services coronavirus update.
The number of hospitalizations is at 1,364, down 400 in one week.
The volume of cases in today’s report, however, rose to 2,493, from 2,160 new cases yesterday, but below the 3,003 new cases reported on this day last week
Deaths
The NCDHHS also reported 42 new COVID-related deaths statewide, including one in Cornelius.
Testing
The statewide positivity rate fell slightly, to 4.5 percent, under the goal of 5 percent.
Mecklenburg
In Mecklenburg County, there were 211 new cases overnight and two deaths, including the one in Cornelius.
North Mecklenburg (change from Wednesday)
• Cornelius: 4 new cases, 4,011 cumulative total, 31 deaths cumulative total.
• Davidson: 3 new cases, 2,326 cumulative total, 19 deaths cumulative total.
• Huntersville: 12 new cases, 8,747 cumulative total, 74 deaths cumulative total.
