Feb. 14. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services reported statewide COVID-related hospitalizations fell to 3,094 as of noon Friday, down 13 percent over the weekend.
Deaths
There were 116 new deaths over the weekend, according to the NCDHHS, for a total of 21,781 statewide since the outbreak began two years ago.
New cases
There were 3,383 new COVID cases statewide, the lowest increase since before Christmas.
Positivity rate
The statewide COVID positivity rate fell to 14.4 percent in Friday’s report.
—In Mecklenburg, the 14-day trailing average also fell, to 18.8 percent positive.
Mecklenburg
There were 1,167 new COVID cases reported statewide since Friday and 10 new deaths, none of them in North Meck.
North Mecklenburg (change from Friday)
• Cornelius: 46 new cases, 6,548 cumulative total, 34 deaths cumulative total.
• Davidson: 14 new cases, 3,971 cumulative total, 21 deaths cumulative total.
• Huntersville: 78 new cases, 14,875 cumulative total, 86 deaths cumulative total.
