Oct. 26. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services today reported COVID-19 hospitalizations have fallen below 1,500 for the first time since early August. At 1,443 today, hospitalizations statewide are down 50 percent from Oct. 1.
The volume of cases in today’s report was 1,340, up from 1,183 new cases yesterday.
Deaths
The NCDHHS also reported 21 new COVID-related deaths statewide from Monday to today.
Testing
The statewide positivity rate was up slightly, at 6 percent.
Mecklenburg
In Mecklenburg County, there were 165 new cases overnight.
North Mecklenburg (change from Monday)
• Cornelius: 2 new cases, 4,002 cumulative total, 30 deaths cumulative total.
• Davidson: 2 new cases, 2,319 cumulative total, 19 deaths cumulative total.
• Huntersville: 10 new cases, 8,732 cumulative total, 75 deaths cumulative total.
