Sept. 22. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services is reporting 6,288 new cases of the coronavirus statewide and 130 new deaths statewide since yesterday.

Hospitalizations

Hospitalizations fell to 3,400 statewide, down 64 from Tuesday’s NCDHHS report.

Testing

Positive tests are running at 11.4 percent statewide, in line with the past week. Mecklenburg County’s 14-day average is 10.7 percent. In Gaston County, it’s 17.1 percent; in Wake County, it’s 5.5 percent. Five percent and below is the goal.

Mecklenburg

In Mecklenburg County, there were 693 new cases in today’s report. There were five new COVID deaths reported countywide, none in North Mecklenburg.

North Mecklenburg (change from Tuesday)

Cornelius: 11 new cases, 3,761 cumulative total, 28 deaths cumulative total.

Davidson: 2 new cases, 2,181 cumulative total, 15 deaths cumulative total.

Huntersville: 38 new cases, 8,199 cumulative total, 64 deaths cumulative total.
