May 19. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services today reported 969 new COVID-19 cases statewide, and 27 new deaths attributable to the coronavirus. Hospitalizations

Statewide, hospitalizations were level, at 820. down from 904 on Monday.

Testing

The statewide positive test rate was at 4.3 percent percent in today’s report. Mecklenburg County stayed at 4.7 percent in today’s report, same as yesterday.

Cornelius: 0 new cases, 2,859 cumulative; 25 deaths total.

Davidson: 2 new cases, 1,679 cumulative; 15 deaths total.
