June 7. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services coronavirus report today shows 359 new cases of the coronavirus statewide, the lowest in months. There have been no COVID-19 related deaths in North Mecklenburg since May 20.
Hospitalizations
Statewide, hospitalizations fell to 546, compared to 613 on both Thursday and Friday last week.
Testing
The COVID-19 positive testing rate is at 2.7 percent statewide and in Mecklenburg.
Deaths
Total COVID-related deaths in North Carolina increased by 48 from Friday’s report to today’s.
There was one new coronavirus death in Mecklenburg County in today’s NCDHHS report.
Vaccinations
The state is reporting that 50 percent of the adult population is fully vaccinated
North Mecklenburg (change from Friday to today)
Cornelius: 3 new cases, 2,875 cumulative; 25 deaths total.
Davidson: 4 new cases, 1,692 cumulative; 15 deaths total.
Huntersville: 6 new cases, 6,033 cumulative; 53 deaths total.
