June 3. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services today reported 481 new cases of the coronavirus statewide, 26 new in Mecklenburg.

Statewide, hospitalizations rose slightly to 613, while COVID-related deaths increased by 20 from yesterday to today.

There were no new coronavirus deaths in Mecklenburg County, after one new death reported yesterday and none between May 26 and June 1.

Testing

The statewide positive test rate is at 2.9 percent; Mecklenburg, 3.1 percent.

NDHHS reports 49.5 percent of North Carolinians over 18 have received both vaccinations

Cornelius: 0 new cases, 2,869 cumulative; 25 deaths total.

Davidson: 1 less case (NCDHHS revision), 1,688 cumulative; 15 deaths total.

Huntersville: 4 new cases, 6,023 cumulative; 53 deaths total.
