June 15. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services today reported 272 new COVID-19 cases statewide and four new deaths attributable to the coronavirus. The positive test rate rose to 2.7 percent statewide.

Today’s increase in new cases was the smallest since June 2. The number of new deaths is the lowest this year.

Hospitalizations

Hospitalizations are at 510 statewide, up from 480 yesterday.

Mecklenburg

Between Tuesday and today in Mecklenburg County, there were 41 new coronavirus cases reported and no new deaths.

North Mecklenburg (change from Monday to today)

Cornelius: 0 new cases, 2,885 cumulative; 25 deaths total.

Davidson: 0 new cases, 1,694 cumulative; 15 deaths total.

Huntersville: 1 fewer case (NCDHHS revision), 6,046 cumulative; 53 deaths total.
