July 1. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services on Wednesday reported 451 new COVID-19 cases statewide, the largest daily increase in two weeks. There were five new COVID deaths statewide in today’s report.

COVID hospitalizations are at 415 statewide compared to 396 on July 1.

Positive testing is at 4.8 percent statewide, up from 2 percent on July 1.

Mecklenburg County

In Mecklenburg County, there were 67 new coronavirus cases reported today..

North Mecklenburg (change from Tuesday to today)

Cornelius: 1 fewer case (NCDHHS revision), 2,907 cumulative; 26 deaths total.

Davidson: 0 new cases, 1,717 cumulative; 15 deaths total.

Huntersville: 2 new cases, 6,124 cumulative; 54 deaths total.
