July 30. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services Friday reported 3,199 new COVID-19 cases statewide, as well as 1,168 hospitalizations due to COVID, almost triple the number hospitalized statewide July 1.

There were 17 new COVID deaths statewide in today’s NCDHHS report.

Testing

Positive testing statewide is still above 9 percent, at 9.5 percent in today’s report.

Mecklenburg County

In Mecklenburg County, there were 394 new coronavirus cases, and one new COVID-related death. The county-wide positive test rate is higher than the state’s: 9.9 percent, according to NCDHHS.

North Mecklenburg (change from Thursday to today)

Cornelius: 19 new cases, 3,020 cumulative; 26 deaths total.

Davidson: 6 new cases, 1,778 cumulative; 15 deaths total.

Huntersville: 26 new cases 6,366 cumulative; 54 deaths total.
