July 15. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services Thursday reported 1,020 new COVID-19 cases statewide, well over double the average of the week preceding the Independence Day weekend. Hospitalizations due to COVID climbed to 492 form 487 yesterday
There were seven new deaths attributable to the coronavirus in today’s NCDHHS report. Positive testing slipped under the critical 5 percent level to 4.8 percent statewide.
Mecklenburg County
In Mecklenburg County, there were 120 new coronavirus cases, and one new COVID-related death.
North Mecklenburg (change from Wednesday to today)
Cornelius: 6 new cases, 2,931 cumulative; 26 deaths total.
Davidson: 1 new case, 1,724 cumulative; 15 deaths total.
Huntersville: 6 new cases 6,152 cumulative; 54 deaths total.
