July 13. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services Tuesday reported 540 new COVID-19 cases statewide, as well as four new deaths attributable to the coronavirus. Positive testing climbed above the critical 5 percent mark to 5.3 percent as of noon today.

COVID hospitalizations rose to 469 today, up from 396 on July 1, when the statewide positive test rate was 2 percent. It was last over 5 percent two months ago.

Mecklenburg County

In Mecklenburg County, there were 80 new coronavirus cases, but no COVID-related deaths.

North Mecklenburg (change from Monday to today)

Cornelius: 4 new cases, 2,921 cumulative; 26 deaths total.

Davidson: no new cases, 1,723 cumulative; 15 deaths total.

Huntersville: one new cases 6,141 cumulative; 54 deaths total.
