The median number of new COVID-19 cases over the past seven business days is running 46 percent ahead of the number of cases over the past 30 business days. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services Monday reported 2,190 new cases as well as as 1,359 hospitalizations due to COVID, more than triple the number hospitalized statewide on July 1.
On Thursday and Friday last week, the volume of new cases statewide was in excess of 3,000.
There were 17 new COVID deaths statewide in today’s NCDHHS report.
Testing
Positive testing statewide is at 10.6 percent.
Mecklenburg County
Since Friday there were 1,081 new coronavirus cases in Mecklenburg, as well as two new COVID-related deaths. The county-wide positive test rate is 10.5 percent according to NCDHHS.
North Mecklenburg (change from Friday to today)
Cornelius: 31 new cases, 3,051 cumulative; 26 deaths total.
Davidson: 13 new cases, 1,791 cumulative; 15 deaths total.
Huntersville: 78 new cases 6,444 cumulative; 54 deaths total.
