April 29. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services today reported 1,985 new COVID-19 cases, for a total of 967,521 statewide since the outbreak began in 2020.
Hospitalizations
Statewide, hospitalizations increased by 20 in today’s report, to 1,137.
Deaths
There were 12 new deaths attributable to COVID-19 statewide, one of them in Huntersville.
Testing
The statewide positive test rate was at 4.5 percent in today’s report. Mecklenburg County was at 7 percent.
Vaccinations
The NCDHHS is reporting 49 percent of NC adults have been at least partially vaccinated; 40 percent have been fully vaccinated.
A total of 3.8 million first doses have been administered; 3 million second doses; and 254,770 single doses vaccinations.
North Mecklenburg
Cornelius: 4 new cases, 2,828 cumulative; 25 deaths total.
Davidson: 4 new cases, 1,651 cumulative; 15 deaths total.
Huntersville: 11 new cases, 5,839 cumulative; 50 deaths total.
