April 27. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services today reported 1,148 new COVID-19 cases, for a total of 963,771 since the outbreak began in March of last year.
Hospitalizations
Statewide, hospitalizations rose to 1,103, up from 1,067 on Monday.
Deaths
There were 23 new deaths statewide attributable to COVID-19, up 146 in a week. In Mecklenburg County there were three new COVID deaths.
Testing
The statewide positive test rate was at 7.5 percent in today’s report. Mecklenburg County was at 6.9 percent, with 5 percent or lower being the goal.
Vaccinations
The NCDHHS is reporting 48.5 percent of NC adults have been at least partially vaccinated; nearly 39 percent fully vaccinated.
North Mecklenburg
Cornelius: 0 new cases, 2,823 cumulative; 25 deaths total.
Davidson: 1 new case, 1,645 cumulative; 15 deaths total.
Huntersville: 11 new cases, 5,818 cumulative; 49 deaths total.
