April 22. The NC Dept. of Health and Human Services today reported 2,236 new cases of COVID-19 statewide, the largest increase since Friday April 16. There were 25 new deaths statewide attributed to the coronavirus in today’s NCDHHS report.
Hospitalizations
The NCDHHS reported 1,149 people hospitalized statewide due to COVID-19, down from 1,168 yesterday
Testing
Positive tests are coming back at the rate of 4.9 percent statewide, 7.3 percent in Mecklenburg.
Mecklenburg
There were 251 new cases of the coronavirus countywide in today’s report. There was one new death yesterday in Huntersville; no new deaths countywide today.
North Mecklenburg (change from April 21)
Cornelius: 4 new cases, cumulative total 2,800, 25 total deaths.
Davidson: 3 new case, total 1,631, 15 total deaths.
Huntersville: 12 new cases, total 5,768, 49 total deaths
