County plans 114-acre park in North Meck

‘Adventure’ park in North Meck

Aug. 22. The new Eastfield Park, with an abundance of canopy trees, streams and rolling topography, will be akin to a nature preserve, but with plenty of amenities, like a playground, mountain bike trails and a dog park.

Construction gets under way in less than a year.

Where

Located on the north side of Eastfield Road not far from the Town of Huntersville, the park property was purchased by the county two dozen years ago.

Amenities

Planned are bike trails, a nature-based playground, rest areas, an outdoor picnic shelter overlooking the tree canopy, restrooms and a multi-use path along Eastfield Road.

The park will be at 13729 Eastfield Road.
