July 7. The Cornelius Youth Orchestra will hold an open house tonight at Bailey Middle school, starting at 6:30 pm. The informational sessions, for parents and students, will be also be held July 21, Aug. 4 and Aug. 11 in the band room.

CYO is a community orchestra open to musicians, ages 6-18, who play string, brass, woodwind, piano or percussion instruments. Those interested in joining CYO should have one or more years of music instruction and be able to perform medium/easy to concert-level musical compositions.

Rehearsals will be held weekly on Tuesdays at 6:30 pm beginningAug. 18. Students must bring their own instruments to rehearsals. Potential new members can attend a rehearsal at no charge in August and September.
