Nov. 28. You can experience the magic of the holiday season at the Cornelius Youth Orchestra’s Christmas Showcase this Friday at Lake Forest Church Huntersville.

The Christmas concert which starts at 7 pm will feature all of the CYO’s performing ensembles: Orchestra, Philharmonic, Brass Ensemble, Junior Brass Ensemble, and Woodwind Ensemble.

General admission is $9; a family bundle is $20.

About the Orchestra: The Orchestra is CYO’s premier group, featuring musicians from all four instrument families under the direction of Eric Boruff.

About the Philharmonic: The brand new Philharmonic is our beginning to intermediate level full orchestra, under the direction of Jen Bassett.

About the Brass Ensemble: The CYO Brass Ensemble is our premier brass program and is an exclusive opportunity connecting elite instruction with more experienced brass youth musicians in the local area. The ensemble is directed by Andrew Fierova, a member of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra.

About the Woodwind Ensemble: The CYO Woodwind Ensemble is our premier woodwind program and is an exclusive opportunity connecting elite instruction with more experienced woodwind youth musicians in the local area. The ensemble is directed by Sam Sparrow, a member of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra.

About the Junior Brass Ensemble: CYO’s entry-level brass ensemble is the perfect fit for brass students just beginning their musical journey. Students in the Junior Brass Ensemble are given the necessary tools to achieve excellent fundamental technique while being introduced to chamber ensemble playing.
