July 6. On Saturday, July 4, 2020, at approximately 4:15 a.m., Cornelius Police responded to an assault with a weapon call at 19525 S. Hill Street. Officers located the male victim with a gunshot wound to his abdomen and he was transported to CMC Main. His injuries have been reported as non-life-threatening.

Police are searching for a white four door sedan with a broken driver side taillight occupied by two black females. The vehicle was last seen traveling south on I-77 around 4:20 a.m.
