April 4. Jerel Law, lead pastor of Love Lake Norman, has a new youth novel coming out in May called “Evan Miller Is Waking Down: A Dreambending Novel.” The book will be available online at Amazon, Walmart, Target and Barnes and Noble, among others.
The dystopian, near-future novel takes place in City 47, where uniformity is celebrated, individuality is stamped out, and the Elders who run the government demand strict obedience to an ancient writing called the Primary Code. Fifteen-year-old Evan Miller has an increasingly disruptive secret—a powerful ability that has attracted the attention of the Elders. When disguising himself as ordinary is no longer an option, he’s forced to flee to the place he fears the most.
“It’s been said that good fiction is the truth inside the lie. I write fiction because it allows me to explore big, true ideas in creative ways,” Law says.
