Jan. 29. Cornelius-based Giving with Grace Foundation has made a $250,000 contribution to Lake Norman Humane for a new in-house spay and neuter clinic.
Giving with Grace, a foundation started two years ago by the former owners of Lake Norman Chrysler Dodge Jeep, Robin and Jack Salzman, made the lead contribution to the $1 million facility which will be located at 2106 Charlotte Hwy, in Mooresville.
The Giving with Grace Spay and Neuter Clinic will provide low-cost spay and neuter surgeries along with affordable vaccinations, ensuring more accessible healthcare options for the pets.
Evening vaccination clinics will also be available, making it easier for pet owners to keep their pets healthy.
Quotable
“Unfortunately there are just not enough homes to adopt all the kittens and puppies that are born each year. North Carolina ranks 3rd in the country for euthanizing shelter pets. In 2023, over 39,423 homeless dogs, cats, kittens and puppies were euthanized in North Carolina.”

More needed
With the lead gift from the Giving with Grace Foundation, Lake Norman Humane is ready to finalize the architectural plans for the upfit at their facility. Although 65 percent of the necessary $1 million required to complete this project has been pledged, an additional $350,000 is still needed.
The funds will be used for building renovations, equipment purchases, staff training and initial medical supplies and expenses.
