Aug. 21. Cornelius Early Scholars, the nonprofit scholarship Christian preschool in the First Baptist Church of Cornelius Education Building, kicks off its second school year with an Open House Friday, Aug. 30, from 10 am to noon. Parents, children, and the general public are invited. Applications for new students and scholarships will be available at the open house. The first day of the new school year is Tuesday, Sept. 3. Classes are held from 9 am to 1 pm.
