Charlotte Ballet comes to the Cain Center for the Arts

In March, Charlotte Ballet will make its Cain Center for the Arts debut.

Feb. 13. In March, Charlotte Ballet will make its Cain Center for the Arts debut with two performances of Under the Lights.

Set to the iconic music of Johnny Cash, this 40-minute piece is a tribute to the life and legacy of Cash and his beloved wife, June Carter Cash.

The ballet is choreographed by Charlotte Ballet II Director Christopher Stuart. It grew out of his personal friendship with Johnny and June’s son, John Carter Cash.

“Charlotte Ballet is thrilled to perform this show for the first time in the Lake Norman region’s new home for inspiration, creativity, and community – and only the second time in the Charlotte area,” says Lauren Sawyers with By George Communications.

The Charlotte Ballet will perform at 2 pm and 8 pm Saturday, March 25. Tickets are on sale for $40-70.

And the Symphony, too

The Charlotte Symphony Orchestra will perform at the can center on Sunday, May 14. Tickets are available now. For a performance three months out, Justin Dionne, the executive director of center, says the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra tickets are “selling really well.”

The symphony performances will close the inaugural season for the center.

Tickets are on sale now for the Charlotte Ballet.
